Thanksgiving in KAUAI!

This Thanksgiving 8 of us island hopped over to the island of Kauai. It was so amazingly beautiful there. Honestly that was the most beautiful place I have ever been. We had made plans to take a 22 mile round trip hike, on the Na Pali coast line in Kauai. We borrowed many things from our bishops and set off on the plane with nothing but a hiking backpack packed lightly as we could get it for a week stay. I barely took anything. Most of my weight was in my food for the hike. This might take me a few posts to complete our journeys. Hope you enjoy!

The first day in Kauai we went to a swimming hole. The swimming hope was decked out with a rope swim, waterfalls, 30 foot cliff jumping. It was the best natural playground ever!

Wow I realize that it has been way to long since I’ve updated this. I’ve been so busy with so many things happening so I think I’ll post things in increments so you don’t get the whole thing at once.
Trip to town
So I had planned to go on a hike the Saturday morning after Lacey had left but it was rainy. So some of my friends were heading into town, (aka Honolulu,) I got a ride in with my roommates and they dropped me off at a random Saturday’s market. I mingled my way around and walked down to the little shopping center and had fun going around looking at shops until my friends arrived. My friends had ridden the bus and got off way to early so we finally met up after walking like eight blocks to find them. Haha But it was fun! We then went to the NEX which is a cheap place to buy things for people in the military. Kami, Chels and I after a long day of shopping called the bus to see when the next one went out, but we found out that the last one had already left! Yep yep so the closest one was about a mile away and was leaving in 10 min so we took off and sprinted a mile with our stuff and made it to the bus stop right as the bus was pulling up. Here is the picture of us at the bus stop, a little sweaty but so glad we made it.

Kami, Chelsea and I
By the time we made it back into town (the bus system takes FOREVER) we missed the last bus to Laie. Not knowing what to do we started calling people to see if they could come pick us up. At one point we were going to hit up a Denny’s until the early morning bus came but we got a hold of Gidion, who wasn’t far and he came and saved the day.

LACEY came to visit!

HALLOWEEN
I was a zebra/cow with a a medical
glove as my utter and Lacey was my milk maid.
LOVE IT!
Eatting Thai food in Haleiwa

DOLE PLANTAION

We just finished the biggest maze in the world
and we're so exhausted from our search.

Pineapple ICE SCREAM!

Little red pineapple
Look lacey's a pineapple!

Oh the bus trips...love it!

Snorkeling in Sharks Cove! Honesly I don't
know why they call it that, its so shallow a shark
couldn't possibly get in there. We saw lots of fish
and sea urchins and lacey spotted a flat sand
fish that blends in and stays on the sand. (Just like
in finding Nemo!)
Queen on the cove!

After sharks cove we had a picnic on the shore.

Picnic on the shore!

Lacey's first ACAI bowl. Now she is addicted and
took packets of it home.
We caught the sunset while waiting for the
bus. There's lacey leaning against the tree
with her leg in the air and then the both of us.

Polynesian Culture Center and Pearl Harbor

The P.C.C. so pretty and has so many tropical
plants.
Look at our fishes we made out of
coconut leaves. We learned how in the
village of samoa.

She's holding her fish that she made ready to
jump into the river!

Lacey just chillin on the statues nose....I wonder
how greasy that thing us I mean it is really hot outside?
And he probably is checking out Lacey's booty, psh knotty knotty
The NIGHT SHOW!

PEARL HARBOR

The USS Arizona it was really cool to see the boat
partly out of the water. It really made us think and
realize what happened there and what a big sacrafice
it was.

One of the old submarines that we went on an
audio tour through it.

Lacey and I about to send a tormedo
to blow up the enemy!

Last day adventures with LACE

We first took a hike....well a walk up a paved walkway
up to this scenic point. We could see two sides of the
island and little light house.....Soooo B E A utiful!

We went to a little cove that had a beach

just right for us. It was so much fun and way

cool to climb on the rocks and in the caves
while the waves were pounding.

Both Lacey and I stood over that spot you can

see where the water blasts up against the rocks,

well Lacey stood pretty close to the edge and when

the water came she almost got knocked over, there

was so much water.....scary

Lacey loved to surf! While she was surfing she actually

had a guy come and help here. He said that he just comes

out several times a week to help people learn how...how cool!

This weeks adventures!

FALL BALL
Funny story so the night before fall ball Jordan and I were
talking about if we wanted to go to the fall ball or not.
We didn't have dates so we were thinking we could get
a big group together and go. Some of our guy friends came over
and started talking to us (in the good ol library.) So we asked them what
their plans were for fall ball and they like the idea of going as a
big group. That night Kiley, Jordan and I got a text from Garrett telling
us to look up this video on youtube but we were all practically asleep
so we finally watched it the following day and the video was actually
of them asking each of us in funny ways if we would go to the dance
with them. Oh it was so funny, so yep we went with them and
it was soooo much fun, super chill, not awkward at all. I loved it!
The roommates and all of our dates

Dancing the night away

Tadd, me, Matt, Kiley, Logan and Kat partying it up!

Tadd's birthday!
We made Tadd a birthday cake and it ended up
being 6 layers tall. It looks like a big mac but so much better!

The finished product. He actually turned 26 but he told
everyone he was turning 33 so we put the 33 candles on there.
It turned out to be oh so good and everyone loved it!
Tadd's Birthday
FOOD FEST

Super fun but really long HIKING DAY!

I love the sign
Two flowers/berries we found on the way back

Climbing down the slippery roots, luckily there was a rope!

Chelsea in the stream bed. We climbed through it to get to the waterfall.

I look like i'm in the Jungle...oh wait I really am!

I ran up this hill to get to the big look out point,

there was no way I was going to slowly walk up it.
